Loss Assessors

Job description of loss adjuster

A loss adjuster is an independent claims expert who is employed by the insurance company. If an insurer files a claim, the insurance company sends out a loss adjuster to the site to investigate the matter in detail. He will go through your policy documents and explain you the coverage benefits of your policy. He will give suggestions to go for immediate repair work to prevent further damage. Even though he might be helpful to you to a certain extent, he works for the insurance company and has to be loyal to them. He will come out with a settlement that is fair to the company.
If you have a loss assessor working on your side, both the assessor and adjuster will have to negotiate a fair settlement for their insurer and company respectively.  The insurance companies provide additional incentive for the adjuster for identifying any fraud or false claims. An adjuster with a good success record will be given appraisal and bonus by the insurance company.
