The only thing I can think of is that your browser is not sending the Referer header correctly. I viewed the page in Google reader just now and it looked fine to me. I have a bandwidth theft measure in place to stop people from linking directly from their pages to my images, but I make exceptions for sites that syndicate me with my knowledge and permission.
