And now for some light entertainment, it's enjoyable to see the rivalry and animosity between McCain and Palin aides come out in the open once and for all. McCain staffers are leaking to Fox "News" that Palin didn't know that Africa is a continent (of course, neither does George Bush Junior), didn't know which countries were members of NAFTA, and couldn't be bothered preparing for her shambolic interview with Katie Couric when there was some serious shopping to do (much more than the previously reported $150,000): "Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast."

McCain's political career is effectively over with his landslide defeat in this election. He would be well advised to retire for health reasons and live out the remainder of his days off his $100 million dollar wife. He may toddle along as the Senator from Arizona for another few years, but he is irrelevant from now on.

But he seems determined to take Palin down with him, and I couldn't be happier to see them trying to destroy each other. For all her cluelessness and vapidity, Palin could have been a real threat as leader of the angry, bitter rethug base who cannot accept a black man - or any Democrat - as president. But with even Fox Noise ridiculing her, you can stick a fork in her.

Attention Sarah, your fifteen minutes of fame are over! Please leave the fancy clothes behind and return to East Jesus (Alaska, that is). Thank you for playing, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
