The fat lady still hasn't sung

For many of us, it's hard to realize what an unprecedented, earth-shaking moment it is when a black man stands poised to become president of the United States. And it seemed impossible that Shrillary could get any more low-class, self-absorbed, scheming and vindictive in her response, but once again she lowered the bar. For her, it's all about "me, me, me, I'm simply the best", and everyone else be damned.

Clinton is not going to get the nomination at this stage, so the only question is how much damage she can do. How far will she and Bill take this vendetta and lust for power at all costs? Will they make ugly scenes at the convention? Or run Hillary as a third party candidate? Perhaps she'll even campaign for McCain? At this point I wouldn't put anything past her.

I am staggered that so many Hillary supporters say they will vote for McCain out of spite if Obama wins. Considering that HRC's core supporters are older white women, obviously they haven't given the question a moment's real thought if they would consider voting for a cranky old coot who would stuff the Supreme Court with more Roberts and Alitos, repeal Roe v. Wade, and send their children to fight and die in a hundred years' war against Iran, Iraq, Shias, Sunnis, he can't even tell the difference.

Some head-up-the-ass pundits are still blathering about a "dream ticket" of Obama-Clinton. I call it a nightmare ticket. Nothing would destroy Obama's hard-won credibility more thoroughly than caving to Billary's pressure and taking on the Bunny Boiler from Hell as his running mate, totally undercutting his message of change in Washington and an end to back-room, lobbyist-controlled politics. Fortunately, I don't think there's a snowball's chance in Hell of that happening, even before today's crass performance by La Hill.

It's sad... Hillary could have contributed so much to taking back this country from the corrupt criminal traitors who have hijacked it. She could have taken Ted Kennedy's place as the leader in the Senate. Now she has irreparably tarnished her reputation, burned her bridges with the black community, and dragged the party into the gutter with Karl Rove dirty tricks and dog-whistle racism.

Barack Obama has come under heavy sniper fire from the Clintons, but he's a hard-working American and he can still win. But it's going to be vastly more difficult than it needed to be, and I can never forgive Hillary for that. And if she loses us the general election... all I can say is, once again - oh gawd, why won't that bloody woman go away?

I had been feeling good about Obama, and I spent last night being indignant about Clinton.

And then today Obama gave a speech to AIPAC in which he called Iran evil and promised continued unquestioning support. Why did we support him against Clinton, again?  (Reply)
