Let them eat religion
Oh for cryin' out loud - the Shrillary-McCain tag team is determined to milk "bittergate" to the, well, bitter end. Despite the fact that both are far wealthier and more elitist than Obama. Once again we see the truth of the adage that a gaffe is when a politician tells the truth.
The hypocrisy of the Clinton campaign - with its astroturf bumper stickers and heavy heapings of faux outrage - is stunning. Does anyone really think that when a town's economic base has been gutted, the population has no jobs or health care, and their homes are being foreclosed on, their worst problem is some politician speaking condescendingly of them? And could anything be more condescending than Hillary's smarmy "People embrace faith not because they are materially poor but because they are spiritually rich"? Yeah, that really helps to keep a roof over your head.
As for McCain - "elitist" doesn't even begin to describe the crabby old coot. Someone feed him a cookie and send him to bed.
To paraphrase the bumper sticker slightly, if you're not bitter, you must not be paying attention.
