Today's trivia tidbit

Did you know that in Heaven, you are not allowed to sit down?

The notion of Heaven as a place of eternal bliss is historically very recent. Biblically there is no support for it, and the church has always stressed that the point of being in Heaven is to worship God and sing his praises for all eternity. I guess the psychotic monster is so pitiably insecure, he has to create beings and force them to glorify him forever on pain of never-ending infinite torture if they refuse!

And of course if you listen to the compulsory childbirth brigade and their endless caterwauling about precious unborn children, and bear in mind that a huge percentage of human pregnancies terminate spontaneously, then Heaven must be bursting at the seams with zygotes and fetuses.

That settles it, I don't want to go there. To Hell with Heaven!
