Veto Boy strikes again!
George Bush Junior has decided to veto a defense appropriations bill on the pretext that a key component of the bill would endanger Iraqi reconstruction. What reconstruction? As always with Junior, it's about protecting his cronies and their money.
The veto would hold up a 3.5% pay increase troops and derail efforts to improve health care for veterans. With "supporters" like Junior and his clique of corrupt criminal traitors, do the troops need enemies? Fortunately, the bill passed both houses of Congress with a veto-proof majority, so Junior's pouting and posturing is unlikely to stop it in his tracks. He'll just have to sneak in a signing statement to allow himself to cherry-pick the bill and ignore the parts he doesn't like.
Unless of course the Dems, in typically cowardly fashion, capitulate yet again and rewrite the bill, taking dictation from Mr. 24% Approval Rating. I don't understand why they aren't making political capital out of this childish tantrum, shouting from the rooftops that Junior is holding the troops hostage and screwing them out of a measly 3.5% pay increase and health care.
Oh, and I just found out that Junior won't even sign the veto - he is simply going to sit on the bill and blatantly flip a finger at Congress and the Constitution alike. Is there no end to this despicable little pipsqueak's assholery? CHIMPEACH NOW!
