Friedman says we need to stop being stupid. Right-wingers give the rebuttal.

Tom Friedman finally says something sensible about 9/11, after years of "Suck on this, Iraq" and cheerleading for Junior's destruction of that country. Better late than never, I suppose, but who's this "we", paleface?

Of course, the attack poodles of the lunatic extreme right never let something sensible go unanswered, and quickly mount one of their trademark pile-ons in which they demonstrate that they are not only stupid but jaw-droppingly dishonest. Stop the ACLU, Sister Toldjah and the other usual suspects are claiming, in their opening sentences, that Friedman said we should stop caring about 9/11, we should pretend it's still 9/10, and generally that Friedman said the opposite of what he really said. Good grief, do these morons think nobody is going to click on the link and check what Friedman actually wrote? Well, maybe their regular mouth-breathing readers won't.

Sigh.... what a shower of wankers. Anyway, HT to Maha for the links.
