Jesus... why won't Democrats EVER put up a fight?
Before last year's midterm elections, rethugs had a monopoly on political power in the US. Then the voters elected Democrats to a majority in both houses of Congress, with a clear mandate to pull out of Iraq.
Today... rethugs still have a monopoly on political power. They call all the shots, set the agenda, get exactly what they want, and give nothing in return. Nothing has changed.
Why? Because dems are craven, quisling, spineless, cowardly lumps of jelly. Instead of putting up even a token fight on behalf of the people who elected them, they fall over each other in their crazed stampede to capitulate to the rethugs and meekly submit to all their demands. Like packing the Federal Elections Commission with known election-riggers and racist disenfranchisers. Thus ensuring, needless to say, that the oversight that allowed the last election results to happen will be "corrected" and the rethug grip on power will be total and absolute in perpetuity.
I used to think the only thing the cowardly craven dems in Congress cared about was their own careers, and that the only way to force them to honor their mandate was to make them fear they wouldn't get re-elected if they kept caving and surrendering to the rethugs. Alas, now it's clear that they don't even care about re-election; they just piss their pants every time a rethug says "boo" and will do anything, gladly sell out their principles and their constituents, just too stop the big nasty rethugs from frightening them. Sometimes they really make me puke and want to bang my head against a wall.
Oh well, you know the old saying: if voting could change the system, it wouldn't be legal.
